Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Kranitz Enterprises, Inc. ("RCMarket," "we," "us") collects when you use rcmarket.com and its apps, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what it takes to run a marketplace, we do not sell your personal information, we do not use advertising trackers, and your email address and phone number are never shown on an ad.

1. What we collect

You give us:

Account: your email address (to send sign-in codes and notices), your name, an optional profile photo, your ZIP code, and whether you sell as a private seller or a business (with the business name, which is shown on your ads).
Ads: photos, title, description, details, condition, price, package size and shipping choices. If you paste an ad you wrote elsewhere, we keep the text you pasted after removing contact details, the address of the original ad if you give it (only to stop the same ad being brought across twice; we never visit it), and a record that you confirmed it is your own. If you upload a spreadsheet, we keep each row's stock number (never shown) so a later upload updates the same ad; if the sheet links to photos, we fetch each linked image once, only because you supplied it, to copy it onto your ad, and we do not keep the link. A Business account's inventory feed works the same way: its items, stock numbers and photo links arrive from the business's own system, and only a hash of its feed key is stored. A Business ad's Buy Now link is stored with the ad; when a buyer follows it we count the click and add a note to the link saying the visit came from RCMarket.
Activity: messages and offers you send, ratings and reviews, favorites, saved searches and wish list items, reports you file, and your notification settings.
Payments: when you buy a boost, Stripe collects your card details directly. We receive only the order, the amount and whether it was paid or refunded.

Collected automatically:

Location: your ZIP code gives an approximate location; before you give one, an approximate location from your connection is used. If you allow it, your device can share a more precise location, used only to sort ads by distance. Other members only ever see your city, state and a rounded distance, never your precise location.
Usage: pages viewed, the referring page, device type, and the approximate country, region, city and network provider that our hosting provider (Cloudflare) derives from your connection. Visits are counted with an identifier made by hashing your IP address and browser details together with the date, so it changes every day; we do not store your IP address in our visit log. Ad view counts are kept for 90 days.
Security: short-lived records of sign-in attempts and request counts to stop abuse.
Push notifications: if you turn them on, the delivery address your browser gives us for that device.

2. How we use it

To run RCMarket: sign you in, publish and show your ads, deliver messages and offers, and send the emails and notifications you asked for (new messages, offers, saved search and wish list matches, ad reminders).
To power the tools: identify products from your photos, suggest a price from sales and asking prices on RCMarket, and estimate shipping between two ZIP codes.
To keep members safe: detect spam and fraud, remove contact details and off-site payment links from ads and messages, review reported ads and messages, and enforce our Terms.
To understand and improve the site, using the usage records above.
To process boost payments, keep business records and meet legal obligations.

3. What other people see

Your ads (photos, text, price, city and state, and a rounded distance), any wanted ads you post (what you are looking for, the details you write, your budget, and your city and state; a wish stays private unless you post it as a wanted ad), your first name and last initial, your profile photo, when you joined, your number of live ads and sales, your response time, ratings and reviews, and, if you choose to bring it across, your RCGroups username and a summary of your RCGroups trader feedback (the numbers and the short feedback lines, without the names of who left them). Messages are seen by the other person in the conversation. Your email address, phone number and precise location are never shown.

We share personal information only with service providers that run parts of RCMarket for us, under their own privacy and security terms, and only what each needs:

Cloudflare: hosting, the database, photo storage and network security.
Resend: sending email.
Anthropic: the assistant. When you use it, your ad's photos and text are sent to Anthropic's AI service to identify the product and suggest details. Product names may be looked up on the web to fill in maker specifications; your personal information is not part of that lookup.
EasyPost: shipping estimates. It receives the two ZIP codes and the package size, not your name or address.
Stripe: boost payments.
Google Fonts: the site's typeface is loaded from Google, which receives your IP address when your browser fetches it.
Your browser's push service (for example Apple, Google or Mozilla) to deliver notifications you turned on.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect members or the public from fraud or harm, to enforce our Terms, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies, none for advertising:

a session cookie that keeps you signed in;
a cookie that remembers which kind of RC you browse (airplanes, helicopters, cars and so on), kept for a year.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

6. How long we keep it

Account information is kept while your account is open. Ads stay in your account after they expire, sell or are removed, so your history and ratings keep working; sold ads leave the public site after 30 days. Sign-in codes expire in minutes and are deleted within an hour; abuse counters are deleted after a day; ad view records after 90 days; shipping estimates when they expire. Records of sales and asking prices are kept, without your identity attached to what the public sees, because they make price suggestions work. When you close your account we delete or de-identify your personal information, except what we must keep for legal, tax, fraud prevention or dispute reasons.

7. Your choices and rights

Edit your name, photo, ZIP code and notification settings under Account, and edit or remove your ads under My Ads.
Turn off message emails, digests and push notifications under Account. Sign-in codes and notices about your own ads and account are always sent.
To see a copy of your information, correct it, or close your account and delete it, write to support@rcmarket.com from the email address on your account.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to not be treated differently for using them. We honor these requests for every member, wherever they live, and we will not discriminate against you for making one.

8. Security

Connections are encrypted, there are no passwords to steal, you can sign out on every device at once under Account, and payment card details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

RCMarket is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to support@rcmarket.com and we will delete it.

10. Where it is processed

RCMarket is offered in the United States. Your information is processed in the United States and wherever our service providers operate.

11. Changes

We will update the effective date above when this policy changes, and give notice on the site or by email for material changes.
